This piece of engraved rock in a velvet bag was presented to councillors of Sunshine City Council at the opening of the Highpoint West Shopping Centre in 1975. The item was presented to the Sunshine & District Historical Society by Mr Charles D. Skidmore, a former councillor of the City of Sunshine. The rock came from the former Essendon Quarry Hole where the Highpoint West Shopping Centre was subsequently built
