Nunawading Mayor, Dorothy Smith, turned the first sod to mark the start of the work for the new Strathdon Lodge, a 24 bed hostel for dementia sufferers. She officially opened a $1.4 million appeal for the hostel. Construction of Nunawading's first hostel for dementia sufferers is about to start. Last week a Federal Government Grant of $666,439 was received. Strathdon Lodge in Jolimont Road, Forest Hill, is due to open in 1991. A campaign to raise more than $1.4 million for the development will be officially launched by the Mayor of Nunawading, Cr.
