Nunawading Mayor, Dorothy Smith, turned the first sod to mark the start of the work for the new Strathdon Lodge, a 24 bed hostel for dementia sufferers. She officially opened a $1.4 million appeal for the hostel. The executive director of the Alzheimer Disease Society of Victoria, Gerry Naughtin, said the new hostel will have world class facilities.
