It was the first Yiddish book published in Australia and brings together works from Yiddish writers both in Australia and from overseas. Edited by the renowned Yiddish writer Melech Ravitch (or Melekh Ravitsh) it provides a unique survey of the views and concerns of Jewish immigrants in Australia in the 1930s. The Almanac contains short fiction and non-fiction pieces including histories of Jewish communities in Australia, political commentary and translations into Yiddish of works by Australian authors. She was a Fellow of the College, and was appointed a Commander of the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG) for services to medicine in 1975.
