She researched and wrote the booklet 'Artists of Kew' and initiated research into authors with a connection to Kew. One of the most important maps of Kew in the KHS Collection is 'Back to Kew' created by Jesse Dannock. This water damaged map was in many places unreadable, and this re-creation by Elizabeth Mackie only included part of the original text. The subject file contains a number of transcripts of his recollections, dating from 1896, which are held in the State Library of Victoria. Also photocopies of genealogical research. In the Dannock file there is a note relating to the 1875 “Back to Kew” map. It reads: “The Map of Early Kew was drawn by Mr Jesse Dannock, 2nd son of James and Maria Dannock. Map was given to Mrs Rogers by May Ratten, stepdaughter of Jesse Dannock. May Ratten & Mrs Rogers were friends.
