James Dannock (1831-1907) was an early pioneer of Kew. The subject file contains a number of transcripts of his recollections, dating from 1896, which are held in the State Library of Victoria. Also photocopies of genealogical research. In the Dannock file there is a note relating to the 1875 “Back to Kew” map. It reads: “The Map of Early Kew was drawn by Mr Jesse Dannock, 2nd son of James and Maria Dannock. Map was given to Mrs Rogers by May Ratten, stepdaughter of Jesse Dannock. May Ratten & Mrs Rogers were friends. Mrs Rogers not a blood relation of the Dannock’s!”
