The WEBBER family is known to have lived in Kew starting from 1927, where Nicholas James (Jim) Webber moved from Castlemaine after working as a surveyor for the Shire of Colac, and attaining many certifications from Castlemaine Technical College, and various other schools. He worked for the City of Kew from 1924 to 1935, and moved to the area in 1927 in the aftermath of the successful designing and subsequent construction of the Kew Swimming Pool, opened in 1925. The WEBBER family is also known as the tenants of the ‘Wharfedale’ house at 5 Ridgeway Avenue, until around 1939. The file includes: Photos of (presumably) Nicholas Webber, a researched history of the WEBBER family compiled by a Jim Webber, and scanned articles regarding the Kew Swimming Pool.
