Charles Vickers was an English architect, who after moving from England in 1848, maintained residence in Melbourne as was responsible for many early buildings in the Kew area. This included the ‘Kew Independent Church’, often seen as the first ‘built’ site for organised religion in the area. Many personages and residences also exist as created by Charles. The file includes: A documented history of Charles Vickers, including primarily his architectural works. Other information on his life and work has been published in our newsletters.
