Gerard Petrie was a councillor for the City of Kew between 1970-1976, and 1989-1994, and Mayor of Kew between 1973-74. Awarded an Order of Australia Medal for his contribution to the Kew community, he is well known for honouring Sir Robert Menzies with the ‘Honorary Freedom of the City of Kew’ Award. The file includes: A copy of the planning for the ceremony, a newspaper article, an article interviewing him about the award, a list of roles that led to his OAM, and an obituary.
