The Theosophical Society is a religious movement pioneered in 1875. Pioneered in New York City, it would spread to Melbourne, particularly in Kew, in 1890. Entitled ‘The Melbourne Theosophical Society’, the task would be given to a Mrs. E. Pickett to spread their influence and to establish a proper Melbourne-wide organisation. The file includes: A write-up of the original charter of the society.
