Trinity Grammar School is a boys’ private school located in Kew. First founded in 1902 and opened in 1903 operating out of the Holy Trinity Church, it has become of the most prestigious schools in the area, as well as in wider Melbourne. Having humble beginnings as a single building, it has since grown to span a much wider campus. The school provides education from an Early Learning Centre up to Year 12, and primarily sits at 40 Charles Street, sitting right off High Street and being serviced by the 109 and 12 Tram Routes, as well as private buses. The file includes: An issue of the 1950 ‘The Mitre’ the school magazine, a wide range of newspaper articles on the school, a letter addressed to a year 12 student regarding completing their year, a funeral booklet for Ken Barrett a teacher at Trinity, newspaper articles regarding students, correspondence between the school and Kew Historical Society, a booklet for a reconciliation dinner in 2000, an invitation to Trinity’s 75th birthday, a 1997 issue of the ‘Trinity Grammarian’, a ‘jubilee book’ to celebrate the 50th anniversary, and multiple magazine issues and celebration letters for the 100th anniversary of Trinity. Then Society has in its library the three volume history of the school written by Dr Jane Carolan.
