The Westpac Bank in Kew resides at Kew Junction along High Street, and has done in different forms for many years. The first variation of Westpac began in a branch of The Commercial Bank of Australia opening in 1938, then almost immediately being closed and duties handled by the branch in Hawthorn for the duration of World War 2. In 1948, another branch of the Bank of New South Wales opened on Cotham Road, before moving in 1959. Eventually in 1982, both these separate branches would be amalgamated into the new Westpac, which maintains a branch to the present.
The file includes: Two copies of a brief history of the Westpac Bank in Kew, and multiple copies of a Westpac marketing material.
