Ivan & Gwlad Wade were a married couple residing in Kew, with Ivan serving as a Councillor and for a period of time as Mayor of the City of Kew. Ivan’s most notable contribution to Kew is the Hamer Court Hostel, which began as an aged care facility, but now exists as community housing for the disadvantaged. Hamer Court was opened in 1983. Ivan would later pass away in 1994, leaving Gwlad a widow until 2012 where she passed away too. Glad Wade was a key member of Kew Senior Citizens. The file includes: Multiple newspaper articles, a condolence letter sent to Gwlad Wade in the aftermath of Ivan’s death, and a letter between the Kew Historical Society and the Council.
