Content

Robert Gordon Menzies was a State and later Federal politician who was for many years, the member for Kooyong, and also Prime Minister of Australia. This is a large file with varied pieces of information about his life and career. It includes biographical information and details about the houses in Kew in which he lived at various stages of his life. The earliest item in the file is an electoral roll from 1911. A number of items of correspondence relate to the bust of Menzies that is located opposite the Kew Library in the Petrie Reserve. Other items include letters of condolence to and condolence cards from the family. The collection additionally and separately holds many photographs of Menzies and a recording of his speech at the 1960 Centenary Dinner.
