The presence of theatre in Kew has a long history. Theatre troupes played strong parts in Kew when doing shows, performing at the Kew Civic Hall and at theatres located at local schools. The file includes: A donation from Peter Reeve of a playbill from ‘His Other Brother’ at the St. Paul’s East Kew Dramatic Club, a call for information on the old ‘Rialto’ theatre in Kew, an advertisement for ‘Trial by Jury’, performed at the M.L.C Theatre, and a letter sent to a Mrs. West advertising tickets for ‘The Merry Widow’ performed by the ‘Q Theatre Guild’. The Society holds numerous programs and photographs of theatre performances that operated in Kew during the 1950s and 1960s. These are catalogued separately.
