‘Tara Hall’ was a late Victorian mansion, located at 28 Studley Park Road. It passed through many hands, originally being built for George Ramsden, who was the proprietor of the Carlton Flour Mills begun by his father, Samuel. It was later owned by Sir Malcom McEacharn, who would re-name the property ‘Goathland’. Eventually it would gain the name of ‘Tara Hall’ under the ownership of Count O’Loughlin. It would be sold to the Women’s Hospital in 1947 after a downturn in value during World War 2 and became a nurse’s home before it was sold and demolished in 1960. The file includes: A page from the heritage listing of ‘Tara Hall’, a photo from 1960 of the property, a brief write-up of information about the house, and a write-up of a 1911 newspaper article regarding the sale of the property.
