The WHITBY family has its origins in Kew in the early 1860s, where Archdale Low Whitby purchased land along Wellington Street, where he and family would continue to reside. This initial migration saw a large number of his family spread out in the area, including a participation in the construction of the local Presbyterian church on Cotham Road, where Annie Whitby played as an organist and raised funds for its renovation into a more recognisable form. The file includes: Correspondence between an A. Hillier and the Kew Historical Society, and subsequent research completed as per request.
