Wooden frame and handle, metal mechanism and spokes, line fabric covering. Wooden handle is 4 cms in diameter and 9 cm long. An eyelet through the handle may once have a carrying loop. The handle has a polished wood finish, and is decorated with painted leaves. The top peak of the umbrella is also polished wood, 3.5 cm long, 2 cm in diameter. The fabric is linen, and has a Japanese ''Cherry blossom'' type print. The outer edge has a 6 cm deep border in a tan coloured linen.costume accessories, female, ladies umbrella -

This shelter was located at Forest St. From discussions with Dave Macartney and Alastair Reither 11/9/2016, it was there in the 1990 hail storms as they sheltered under it, but disappeared soon after - the construction of the roundabout would have absorbed its location. .3 - timber based shelter with flat roof - Wendouree Parade near Dowling St. This shelter remains in position in 9/2016. It was led by women with a national profile and was instrumental in the establishment of the State umbrella organisation. ..."This society was founded in 1891, when there was a considerable amount of distress on account of the collapse of the land boom. The first office-bearers were: President, Mrs. F. R. M. Wilson; Hon. Secretary, Mrs. S. Kellett; and Hon. Treasurer, Mrs. J. Lorimer. The society has had a useful career and been of great assistance to many families. One of its best workers was Mrs. G. Wharton. The present committee consists of Mrs. H. Collier (President), Mrs. Holdsworth (Vice-President), Mrs. Archer (Hon. Treasurer) Mrs. E. J. Dunn (Hon. Secretary), and Mesdames. Berry, Gillespie, Israel, Jellis, Kerr, Lilley, McCrea, Paton, Spring, Tappin, and Wishart."
