On 9th April 1921 Gertrude Jane Goad Married Walter Taylor at St Andrew's Kirk, Presbyterian Church Ballarat.The best man was Walter's brother George Taylor and the bridesmaid Ada Hannah Grigg. Gertrude Jane Goad and Walter Taylor lived in Dean,and are buried in the Creswick Cemetary. This photo is of the Wedding of Alexander Paterson to Effie Hilda Long. They were married at St Andrews Presbyterian Church Ballarat on the 30th August 1924, by the Rev. Robert Jones. The groom is the son of James and Emma Paterson of Miners Rest, and the bride is the daughter of William and May Long of Ballarat.Their attendants were, groomsman- Albert Robert Mathews, bridesmaid -Ruby Sarah Long, the name of the flowergirl is unknown,Depicting people of the Ballarat Shire area in the 1920'sPhoto is in dark brown wooden frame which has ornate carved decoration, mount is "kharkie" brown with dark sepia around photo. The bible was used at St David's Presbyterian church (later to become the Uniting Church) Waubra. When the church was closed in the early 2000's. It was donated to the Learmonth and District Historical Society Inc by Ken Fraser who had attended the church.It is an object that represents of over 150 years of the Presbyterian Church in Waubra, Victoria.A black covered Vinyl bible. It has the words "HOLY BIBLE," in gold writing on the spine. It has the words "HOLY BIBLE," in gold writing on the spine. -

This snuff horn belonged to the Rev. Thomas Hastie, pioneering Presbyterian minister at Buninyong from 1847 to 1898. It was presented to the Society by his great grand-daughter in 2010.This item is historically significant for its connection with an important figure in the history of Buninyong, who was also a notable figure in the Free Presbyterian Church in Victoria in the 19th Century.A brown snuff horn, made of ivory, with a silver band and inlaid silver decoration on the lid. Part of a photographic record of Buninyong township. The buildings range from 1960s back to 1896, 1887, 1866, to a remnant of 1855, hidden within the shop of D. Brown electrician, consequently reflecting much alteration and change when compared to earlier photos.The streetscape is of historic significance, recording the detail of the streetscape in 1993. Many of the buildings have since undergone significant renovation/change.Streetscape of Learmonth St., Buninyong, looking over roundabout to Town Hall and businesses. Elm trees in the grounds of the Uniting (formerly Presbyterian) Church are seen in the background. Buildings are the fire station, council offices, Town Hall, Whykes Butchers, M. & D. Brown electrician, Buninyong Cake Shop and former bank, now a residence. Oak trees are in front of the council offices and shire hall. One tree planted in 1959 to mark the occasion of the connection of a water supply to Buninyong. A variety of elm is at the end of the row outside the Bank, now a residence.
