Also four elongated wooden rods with round handle at top and a round shaped bottom approximately matching the holes in the block. This cushion belonged to Bert Vivian who was a saddler. His daughter, Betty Vivian, donated many items to the cultural collection including Bert's saddlery and leatherworking tools.Textile padded cushion with several needles inserted into it. The fabric is cream in colour with black and yellow lines creating a checkered effect. It looks to be handsewn and frayed around the edges. The needles in the cushion are of varying lengths and sizes. The photograph was taken in Sussex Street, outside the home of Georgina and Bill Hall (formerly the Allan home). This house is currently 58 Sussex Street. At the time the photograph was taken, the house still had a small shop at the front, at one time used as a saddlery and leatherwork shop by George (Rozzie) Allan, Georgina Hall's brother.Small, faded, black and white photograph which shows a horse-drawn cart, with three adults sitting at the front, and children (and possibly other adults) in the back. This drinking glass is a souvenir from the 'All Australian Exhibition' held at the Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne, from Spetember to November 1913. The exhibition featured only Australian made products, including food and drinks and household items, as well as metal and leatherwork. It aimed to highlight the quality and range of the Australian manufacturing industry on both a small and large scale.Souvenir pressed glass drinking glass, with a rising sun design and ruby coloured highlights.Engraved on rim: "All Australian Exhibition 1913" On opposite side the initials : "J.G."

Entrance requirements for a full-course student was an Intermediate Certificate of equivalent. The Certificate of Art was a two year course of basic study to enable students to undertake a further two years of specialised training in a chosen field of art. Leatherwork was offered to clients at the Ballarat office of Vision Australia, involving the use of jigs to help align punch marks. This jig was donated by "G.A. Arnold P/L 98-106 Moray St, South Melbourne" and its users were advised to "Clean and oil weekly" according to the 2 metal plates attached to the base plate that the jig was affixed to. A small metal bar runs across the middle of the base plate, to assist in correct alignment, with a black ball handle situated above a metal rod to allow users to push downwards on to a secondary rod (held in place by a cylinder) at the end of which is a punch. The cylinder that holds the punch in place is attached to a broader black metal attachment that is screwed into the base plate.
