Dated on an envelope with negatives as 13/10/1971. 1 - Tram stop showing shelter, SW6 886 (City) and Melbourne Brighton Bus No. 660 (City, route 602). Photograph shows Garford KB bus No 49 with a Cabletram Workshops, North Fitzroy body. Entered service 1925. Photo take with bus straddling Brighton Road, Ripponlea when new. Buses replaced trams on this route between late 1925 and early 1926 during the conversion of the cable line to electric traction. Likely an official M&MTB photograph. Yields information about replacement buses during Swanston Street cable line conversion. Black and white photograph with stamp on rear.
