Serving in the Australian Army Educational Corps Murray was the only such person to serve in the Australian Army Training Team Vietnam. As a Capt age 44 years he served in Vietnam as Adjutant with AATTV/HQ AFV (Army) from 29.1.68 to 21.1.69.
