The tree was one of two original red river gums that pre-dated European occupation, and was the site where colonists congregated to celebrate the announcement of Victoria's separation from New South Wales on 15 November 1850. It died as the result of vandalism in 2010 and 2013. Saplings of the original are planted around Melbourne, including along the Plenty River Trail in Greensborough3 p. This is a set of seven photographs of technicians retouching orthophoto reproduction material at the Army Survey Regiment, Bendigo, c1975. Retouching mainly entailed the application of liquid opaque (Plumtree), commonly known as “duff” to cover blemishes such as scratches and spots on film negatives before photographic exposure. Retouching technicians also used specialised techniques such as “needling” to repair faults on the emulsion of map reproduction material. The technicians in this set of photos were probably working on the retouching and registration of orthophotomap colour film separations in preparation for publication by Print Troop. Peter Dew featuring in photos .1P to .5P was a serving member of RA Svy, who died in a tragic accident at home. He was fondly remembered as one of Lithographic Squadron’s colourful personalities. The "Super Animal of the Year" Peter Dew Memorial Award was an award presented to a member of the squadron for a crude act. This set of map prints was assembled as a training aid. The collection is a complete set of individual color prints of each colour used on the final printed maps for each map Joint Operations Graphic (JOG) JOG Ground and JOG Air versions. This map series was produced in two versions to help coordinate military Ground Operations and Air Operations. The ground users required that heights and measurements were in Metres, whilst air users required height information in Feet for altimeters. The Air Version also contained more Aeronautical information including safe flying height information called Maximum Elevation Figures (MEF). Later printing of JOG incorporated printing in just four colours Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black (CMYK). This document tells of the separation of Melbourne District Nursing Society and After Care Hospital.The Melbourne District Nursing Society was founded in February 1885. It built the After-Care Home in 1926, and the Society became the 'Melbourne District Nursing Society and After-Care Home' until 1935 when the word 'Home' was replaced by the word 'Hospital'. In 1957 the two bodies separated, with one becoming the 'Melbourne District Nursing Service', and the other the 'After-Care Hospital'. This document from the Lieutenant-Governor of Victoria shows the 'Closure of the Melbourne District Nursing Society and After Care Hospital' which took affect with dissolution on the 1st of September 1958.Black and white document: 'Closure of the Melbourne District Nursing Society and After Care Hospital' The document is bold black printing on a white background.
