A promotional event where Ron Barassi and Daryl Somers did a parachute jump to promote Legacy. Photos show Daryl and Ron in Fawkner Park in Melbourne and some Legatees giving scores on cards of their jump - similar to the scores given on 'Red Faces' a segment of Daryl Somers TV show 'Hey Hey it's Saturday'. The Legatees with President Brian Luscombe, George Logan and Peter Stokes. Photograph of a team of Australia's Parachute Display Team, the Red Berets, parachuting into Sandown racecourse for Legacy Week. The yellow paper label says: "Legacy Torch drops on Sandown. The Australian Army's parachute display team, the 'Red Berets' provided a spectacular free-fall display at Sandown racecourse to help highlight Legacy Week. Lt. Col. Matt Chambers carried the Legacy Torch to be used for the Legacy Torch Relay the next day." "Lt. Col. Matt Chambers hands the Legacy Torch to the President after jumping 3,000 feet." Believed to be 1991 as John Sullivan was the president accepting the torch at the racecourse. They were in a folio of photos from 1990 and 1991. Denis Gibbons (1937 – 2011) Trained with the Australian Army, before travelling to Vietnam in January 1966, Denis stayed with the 1st Australian Task Force in Nui Dat working as a photographer. For almost five years Gibbons toured with nine Australian infantry battalions, posting compelling war images from within many combat zones before being flown out in late November 1970 after sustaining injuries. The images held within the National Vietnam Veterans Museum make up the Gibbons Collection. This is a small advertising parachute dropped from Basil Watson's biplane at a flying display in Casterton Vic on 17/2/1917. It was sponsored by Shell and includes a Souvenir Program with notes on Basis Watson plus copies of a newspaper article on his death.This is a souvenir from one of Australia's pioneer aviators. -
