On Wednesday, October 20, 1999, World Osteoporosis Day (WOD), Osteoporosis Victoria conducted a morning of physical activities with the Year 9 students at Shelford Girls' Grammar School in Caulfield. Titled, "Come & Try Day", the activities on offer included abseiling, golf, table tennis, Tai Chi, football, and indoor lawn bowls. In this photo, a Tai Chi instructor leads a group of students in a Tai Chi class. This photo (amongst others from the Come & Try Day) appears on Page 5 of the Vol 12 Issue 4, Summer 1999 edition of the Arthritis Foundation of Victoria's quarterly magazine, Arthritis Update. In 1999, as part of the VicHealth sponsorship programs, Arthritis Victoria partnered with the Ethnic Communities' Council of Victoria (ECCV) and the Department of Human Services (DHS) to promote the 'Active for Life' message through various sports and arts groups. In this photo, Middle-Eastern music and dance troupe, Yalla, are depicted performing at the Frankston Multicultural Variety Concert in July 1999 as part of a series of concerts. This photo appears on page 23 of the Arthritis Victoria (inc Osteoporosis Victoria) 1999 Annual Report under the heading, "VicHealth Sponsorship Programs".
