Police Tunic made in Australia dates from 1947 Dark navy wool Tunic and trousers, fully lined with ticking cotton. 10 silver buttons and belt. with victoria Police badges on each sholder. sargents stripes on each sleeve.

Large Insulator made of porcelain on a cement base. Sat on Top of Telegraph Pole to carry electric wire.
Concrete Water Trough, oblong in shape has small dog trough attached to side.
on back is a plaque with the inscription "DONATED BY ANNIS AND GEORGE BILLS. AUSTRALIA"

Horse collar worn around neck of Horse as part of equipment used to help pull heavy loads handmade leather filled with straw, inside covered with soft hide to prevent chaffing on horses neck. would have been for a clydesdale or draught horse.

Used by McIvor Times to print the local newspapters the Rodney Advertiser and McIvor News in Heathcote McIvor 1853-1941
It is significant to heathcote as it has provided the early gold mining community of the McIvor District with the current news of the day.

Believed to be long to Routledge Brothers who ran a general store business in heathcote. They also owned a sawmill and quartz crushing battery.
one of three books donated to the Museum, were found by the donors father back in the late 1960's while he was working on renovations to a building in heathcote these books had been thrown onto a pile of builders rubble, he retrieved them. when he passed away some years later his son found them while clearing out his effects, have travel through several house changes till 2010 when the son was doing a cleanup and the books were found again he contacted the Historic Society, date back to first settlement of Heathcote, inside writing is in excellient condition, as if it were written yeaterday. give a daily account of purchases by locals.gives us an insight into persons living and working in Heathcote McIvor district. Not many early items of this era left .

Edwin Parr Hood cam to heathcote in 1891. at the age of twenty he had already leaned the tailors trade.He set up his business in High Street opposide the Mt. Ida Hotel. he advertised his stocks of mens clothing in the McIvor Times.
2 suits made by E. P. Hood donated to the Museum by a local family whose father had purchased the suits in Heathcote. Worn on several occasions in and around the district of Heathcote.

Belonged to Percy Webber who took the slides while he was parish priest of the church of england in Heathcote in 1893.
these Glass slides are only known original pictures still in original box 9 in total taken in 1893 of the various views around heathcote.

Owned by R.A. Brewster who was in the Royal Australian Navy on board HMS Kanimbla 1939-1947
The matress came into our possession through local op shop. Mr. Brewsters daughter visited the Museum and in seeing the mattress mentioned that her father had lived in Heathcote.Till then we didnit know the history of the item.

Drum has been in Historic Society for many years no history known till 2010 when a visitor donated several photographs to society .one with the bass drum in front of group of Heathcote Brass Band members.
only item known still in exsistance from the brass band dated from 1890-1930 in Heathcote.

Police Helmet made of leather or hide, black in colour, lined with brown textured material in layers. has band attached. no badge but holes where number would have been on front and top
inside rim signature of owner and in bowl of helmet is a blue label not able to read. 21 3/4" written in blue

Created for the memorial service that was held on friday 20th may 1910, held in front of the shire hall in Heathcote to honour king edward VII who died on the 6th may 1910 at 2.30 p.m. this was arranged by the local ministers of religion at the request of the president and councillers of the shire of McIvor.
Believed to be the only one in exsistence, after intesive research have been unable to come up with any information, from the shire, local churches or senior members of the community,only mention was in the Bendigo Advertiser newspaper.research in to archives further afield have not produced another.
