Presented to Mr. Connor, M.L.A., Colony of Victoria by the Electors of the district of Colac,
inappreciation of his service as their representative. 27/6/1866

Significance

This jug is part of a significant set of silverware made especially for the people of Colac in the early days of the settlement. It is of great local significance

Physical description

Sterling silver jug with ornate single handle and detailed embossing on the lip. Four filigree feet. Elaborate embossing on the bottom - an emu, three kangaroos and a man shooting

Inscriptions & markings

Sterling sliver hallmark on base and family intitals in script engraved on side of jug "JFC"
