This photograph shows workmen with earthmoving equipment, installing the temporary, or 'portable', buildings that were the first used by the school. This was taken just days before the new school was to open.

Cover is black leather with a gold embossed trim around edges. Internal exposed leather has similar trim. Pages are paper with rounded corners and edge of paper is gold.
March 1969 – Mr Green’s last day at Newcomb. Mr Green relieved while Mr Fahie was in army training.
Chris Bailey’s father loaned this bell to Newcomb High School for the first two years until a PA system was installed. It came from his father’s boat in the Middle East. Chris was a Form 1 student in 1969. The bell is now kept at Chris’ home, 4 Yvonne Street, Belmont, 3216.
