Physical description

Binoculars (or field glasses) taken from a captured Japanese Army officer in New Guinea?? during World War 2. Prismatic binocular design with a magnification of 7 x 7degrees 10 minutes. Each eye piece is rotated for fine adjustment of focal length. The tubular optics have a swivel action to adjust for eye width. Manufactured from brass with leathered grips and loops for attaching a carrying strap. Finished with an all over dull black paint.
Japanese kanji characters are stamped on the body of the item with the number 4519.
