Andrew Reeves was charged in June 1920 with attempting to murder Gertrude Clara Sexton by shooting her and then attempting to commit suicide by shooting himself. Watson was a partner in Mr Sexton's farm at Turriff in the Mallee. Watson and Mrs Sexton were planning to run away together.
