The plate has been used as a school teaching implement in English & Spelling and Mathematics
The plate has been designed for dual use in a school, to tutor children alphabet and mathematical concepts, while at the same time being used as a domestic eating plate.
Small white plate with dark green alphabet and numbers around the plate. In the middle there a clock with Roman numerals
On the back of the plate there is a dark green, round inscription with the words "Trade Mark" " School" and the maker B & K LTD

The Southern Cross Organisation had its origin in a small Foundry in Toowoomba, Queensland, in 1871, and has grown into a Commonwealth-wide organisation with a selling network serving the whole of Australia and supplying Southern Cross Products as far away and Deccan, in India.
This object is significant because it is complete and the pages are clean, straight & unmarked with the binding is in good condition.

The Walking Stick was owned by Dr. Samuel Reynolds- the first Mansfield Doctor
This item is significant because Dr. Samuel Reynolds was Mansfield's first doctor who established the local hospital and contributed to many aspects of the social life of the town.'Colonial Doctor and His Town' by Joan Gillison, Cypress Books, 1976 is the Doctor's Story.The Walking Stick has remained in the Reynold's family until it was donated to the Society.
A Victorian Bamboo horse measuring stick with a horn handle unscrewing to reveal brass measure and extending to 17 hands.

bottle, F Wheeler
This item was found on the site of F Wheeler's cordial factory in Chenery Street Mansfield which was in operation in 1891.Water was carted from Devil's River and stored in a 28,000 gallon tank. Mr Keane was the manager.
As cordial factories are no longer in use in Mansfield this broken bottle has historic significance and it is aesthetically pleasing because of the many colours which can been seen in the green glass'
