Physical description
A long ivory coloured crocheted doily with Melbourne Centenary in the centre and 1934 at each end.

Group Photo Sepia Fixed to mounting board. Photograph of 5 young ladies with a young girl sitting on logs in a bush setting. A note on the reverse side indicates that the photo was taken on Cup Day at Bayswater on 9 Nov 1897. Photo Size: 140mm X 97mm. Mounting Board Size: 165mm X 105mm.

The photo is of a group of 15 women and 11 men in bush type location with many holding a glass bottle presumably of refreshment. A note on the reverse side indicates that the photo may have been taken on Boxing Day (..."ing Day Fern Tree Gully 1896" but the corner of the photo with the rest of the inscription is missing).
The photo is significant as it was taken by George Rose of "The Rose Collection" fame. It was noted on the reverse side was taken at Fern Tree Gully (written the early way as seperate words rather than Ferntree Gully as written today).
