The Memorandum and Articles of Association of the Ithacan Philanthropic Society "The Ulysses" booklet is a record of the incorporation of the Ithacan Philanthropic Society which took place on 5 June 1944. The society became incorporated as a Company Limited by Guarantee under the Companies Act of 1938. The number in the register is 23 109. All 27 pages have been scanned. The 1944 IPS Memorandum and Articles of Association was based on the English translation of the IPS founding constitution (1916).
Significance
The Certificate of Incorporation was an important step in the progress and establishment of the Ithacan Philanthropic Society as it was then recognised as a legal entity.
Physical description
A small booklet with a buff coloured thin cardboard cover with thirty two inside pages. The booklet has been stapled together with two staples down the middle fold of the item.
