A mid-century draped turban cocktail hat with an integrated birdcage veil, dating precisely to the late 1950s to early 1960s. It is a classic "half-hat" or stylized turban hybrid. The base is structured to sit securely on the back or crown of the head, framing the hairstyle rather than covering the entire head. The hat features heavy, precise horizontal draping and ruching. The fabric appears to be a high-quality silk taffeta or faille in a rich navy or steel blue, which holds its crisp, structured shape exceptionally well.
