Historical information

The Ballarat Trades and Labour Council was formed in May 1882 and known as the Eight Hours Anniversary Committee. The Ballarat Regional Trades and Labour Council has been in existence from 1883 to the present day.

Significance

The documents are a core historical source of information about the history of the BTLC building. The building is part of the rich history of unionism within the region.
