Significance

Lifesaving clubs formed an important part of the social history of Mordialloc.

Physical description

Silver coloured lifesaving medal awarded by the Education Department of Victoria. 2 inches in diameter, featuring a male figure holding a palm frond over his shoulder on the front and a female figure holding a trident and two children in the sea on the reverse.

Inscriptions & markings

"Education Department Victoria Swimming and Lifesaving". "Presented 1932-33 to Charles Stevens" engraved on side.
