From the album of WWI soldier William West (1268) of the 29 Infantry Battalion, 5th Pioneers Battalion. This collection of postcards, photographs and clippings were sent between William and his family and loved ones during the years he was on active service. See also 207 and 220.

Colour postcard (portrait orientation) with flags of the allies, ivy and flowers above a birthday greeting. Handwritten message on back.

Inscriptions & markings

Front: "To wish you a glorious birthday / sheltered form all worldly strife / may your life guarded be / and only days of sweet content / i would wish for thee"
