Historical information

It was noted in 100 BC that weavers of asbestos became ill. Reports of its bad effects have continued throughout history. In Australia in 1939, employees of James Hardie were reported as having respiratory disorders. The link between asbestos and cancer was confirmed in New York in 1943. Irrespective of this, it is only in recent decades that appropriate measures have been taken to remove and handle asbestos.
