Certificate, Scout Association of Victoria, 1st Kew (Flinders) Rover Scout Crew - Life Membership Certificate in the Rover Scout Hostel on the Bogong High Plains, 1938

Historical information

The Rover Scouts section catered for young men aged 18 years and over. Rover Scout Crews typically took the name of a famous person in Australian history; hence the 1st Kew Rover Crew styled itself as the Flinders Rover Crew. Life memberships were sold to Rover Crews in 1938 as a fundraiser to cover the cost of the building of what was to become known as the Bogong Rover Chalet, which was built in 1940 and still operates.
