Historical information
A bust of Louis Braille was gifted to the Victorian Association of Braille Writers (VABW) in 1929 by Mrs Swinburne. Made by the sculptor Guilliame Daniel Duprat, the sculpture commemorates 100 years of Braille, with the French government donating the centenary medal in the base. The bronze bust sits upon a blackwood plinth, with an inscribed nameplate below the chest, and a revolving medallion at the base of the stand.
