Kalypso Sofianos nee Raftopoulos is pictured in the middle. The other women are not identified. The group were photographed in Ithaca, in the village of Kioni, possibly taken shortly before Kalypso emigrated to Australia in 1936.
Significance
Young people migrating from their homeland to a foreign county and unknown culture left behind family and close friends.
