The group were at an annual Ithacan Club picnic at a country location outside of Melbourne.

Significance
The Ithacan picnics were a popular annual event on the club's calendar and gave families and friends the chance to socialise and relax away from the arduous work of their shops and cafes. Attendees would gather with the fellow villages and share their picnic lunches.
