Historical information

The photograph was taken in the 1920s of the brothers, Peter and Dennis Flocas. The brothers ran the Golden Age Café at the top end of Bourke Street near Spring Street which was opened during the the First World War.

Significance

They like many young Ithacan men migrated to Melbourne in the early decades of the twentieth century. Most settled permanently in Melbourne where they married and raised families.
