Photos of gathering at the Legacy Garden of Appreciation for the installation and dedication of the 'Widow and Children' statue on Tuesday 29th September 1998. The 'Widow and Children' statue was sculpted by Louis Laumen, a Melbourne artist. The photos show Legatees, including President Tom Butcher, making speeches, a crowd seated for the ceremony and some of the crowd singing. Also a girl laying flowers at the plaque which reads:
"Legacy Garden of Appreciation.
A living tribute to the generous support of Victorians for the work of Legacy.
The sculpture symbolises the work of Legacy caring for the widows and children of veterans.
The Flanders Poppies which bloom around November have their origin on the World War I battlefields of Belgium and France."
