Photograph, Anzac commemoration for students 1994, 1994

Historical information

A Legacy ceremony at the Shrine of Remembrance. It was one of the annual "Anzac Commemoration Ceremony for Students" events, usually held just prior to ANZAC Day. The ceremony provides a valuable opportunity for students to gain an appreciation of the Anzac spirit, the significance of the Shrine and the meaning of Anzac Day.
The photo shows a pair of students with a wreath at the Cenotaph. Usually two junior legatees are invited to lay the wreath at the cenotaph. They appear to be the same children in a photo used for a leaflet in 1995 (see 00558), which implies it is 1994.

Significance

A record of a ceremony for school students at the Shrine.
