Personal and political biography of Joseph Stalin (1878-1953). He was born Ioseb Besarionis dze Jughashvili and was a Soviet revolutionary. Stalin was General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1922 to 1952 and the nation's Premier from 1941 to 1953. Much of his personal life is unknown although the author seeks to uncover some of the details.
