Historical information

A 'Boutonneur' or Buttoner; is an instrument wherewith buttons are pulled through their o'er-strait holes. To use the implement on a shoe, one firmly grasped the handle, and then inserted the steel hook through the eyelet, grasping the button and pulling it through.

Physical description

Small chrome plated steel hook with bone panels riveted to either side of the handle.
