Significance

Presented to W.Orr Gray. LDS DDS by the students and graduates of Australian College of Dentistry as a mark of appreciation of his teachings during his term of office as Superintendent 1901-1906 April 6th 1906. He was awarded a Doctorate of Dental Surgery in the US, after studying in Auckland, Edinburgh and Pennsylvania, in the period 1897 to 1900. Whilst at the Melbourne Dental Hospital and College he was a key person in the Odontological Society where he contributed many research papers and was instrumental in the establishment of the Dental School of the University of Melbourne.
