War Medal 1939 1945. Campaign medal instituted by the United Kingdom on 16th August 1945, to Commonwealth Servicemen who served more than 28 days service overseas. Cotton Ribbon in Red/Blue and white stripe.

Inscriptions & markings

Obverse shows King George 6th wearing crown. Georgivs V1 G.BR.OMN.REX ET INDIAE IMP: inscribed around edge.
Reverse shows lion vanquishing a Griffon. Date 1939 1945 inscribed above.
