First Field Dressing open cotton pouch containing one dressing

Inscriptions & markings

Printed on cotton package containing the First Field Dressing. Inside a printed box is printed the following: /
FIRST FILED DRESSING / To Open... /Outer Cover. Break thread holding flap / Inner Waterproof Cover/ Tear apart at the uncemented corner (indicated by arrow). /CONTENTS:/ Two dressings in Waterproof Covers, each consisting of a gauze pad stitched to a bandage, and / a safety pin./ DIRECTION FOR USE -Take the folded ends of the / bandage in each hand, and keeping bandage / taut, apply the gauze pad to the wound and fix the / bandage One dressing to be used for each wound. / In the case of head wounds when respirators have to / be worn, care should be taken to adjust the pad so / it does not interfere with the fit of the facepiece. / DO NOT HANDLE THE GAUZE OR WOUND /
